SUMMER FIESTA

With a heavy work load, a family trip to Hawaii and the updating of my site and blog…I almost ran out of time to plan my son’s 4th birthday party.  But despite my tight schedule this summer I just can’t bare the idea of NOT throwing something small together that is memorable and fun!  Here are a few things I planned a week before the shin-dig, barely any stress and definitely a fun day to remember!  Happy Fiesta Planning!!

I used this fabulous taco service that my son’s preschool used this year for their taco party. They do not disappoint! I didn’t have to cook and everyone left happily filled with tacos & tostadas! Once I knew I was having a taco party I had look into getting a taco piñata. To my surprise there were a ton of DIY examples of this over the net and it dawned on me it wouldn’t be too hard to do. I spent 2 evenings after dinner and voila! A taco piñata! 💗

Giant, oversized round balloons have become a fast tradition in my house during birthdays! I order mine from ballonfast.com and you can get them within a couple of days!

I love decorations that don’t end up in the trash. I bought this cotton banner for my son’s first birthday, it can be re-used every year and you can toss it in the wash. These Meri-Meri party hats I purchased last year but had plenty left over to re-use for this party!  Check out their site for their extensive and stylish party decor and products!  Very inspiring!

With a late summer birthday I found the PERFECT summer treat! These handmade all natural popsicles come in an assortment of interesting flavors! I chose strawberry cream & brown sugar, pineapple coconut, cafe con leche and mango chili lime. These have become a quick favorite in my house so we may have to make it a yearly birthday tradition! Also what a fun and simple thing to make at home! These were provided by Si Paletas.

What is a fiesta without some margaritas?? I have to thank one of my good friends hubby for his lime squeezing, Margarita making skills. Without him these drinks would never have been as tasty!! All in all everything was simple, fun and memorable. Happy to celebrate another year and create lots of memories of an eventful and productive summer!
